Jason and Allison’s ceremony took place right next to Lake Eerie on the most perfect August day you could ever imagine. In Florida, August is one of the most miserable places you could be, but in Lakeside, Ohio, August is like magic. 78 degrees and a cool breeze; can you get any better than that? Most of the details in the wedding were handmade by Allison and her friends and family. I don’t know what I loved more; the sign pointing to their ceremony, the victorian hats (perched on hat racks her family made), the silk screened hankies with the program, or the fans with the victorian fan language manuel attached (it showed you how women used to flirt with a man using certain gestures with their fan). I was actually in this wedding. Can you spot me? The one with the ghostly white skin and goofy face? I shot the bridal portraits and couples portraits before the wedding, Sam shot the groom’s portraits, the bridal party (that would have been hard for me to pull off), and the ceremony. We split the responsibility of shooting the details and the reception. It was fun actually being in the wedding but there is no way I was going to let anyone else shoot my gorgeous friend’s wedding. P.S. In case you’re wondering the adorable silk bridesmaids dresses we wore were from Anthropologie (my favorite store!).
